Celebrating The Happy Couple

(June 2011) - One of the most exciting times in a person’s life is the day they get married. But while the wedding is only one day, it’s the days leading up to the wedding that provide some of the most lasting memories. Check out some of these fun shower ideas from our bridal experts to give the bride and groom a special day they’ll always remember.

  • Round The Clock: Assign each guest to a time of day and have them select a gift that corresponds with it. For example, someone assigned to 6 a.m. may select a coffee pot and matching mugs, while a guest who selects the lunchtime hour might want to get a Panini press or a picnic basket filled with goodies.

  • Game Night: It is said that the couple who plays together, stays together, so encourage interaction and fun with a game night themed shower. Activities during the event may include trivia about the couple or bridal shower bingo, where guests fill out a game board with gifts they think the bride will receive and then mark them off as she opens them.

  • Prepare to Party: Get the bride and groom set for entertaining with all of the appetizer plates, wine glasses and other wares they will need for hosting spirited fetes. Serve some of your own crowd-pleasing appetizer, providing the bride with a copy of the recipe. Bonus points for stocking up their bar, if they are inclined to imbibe.

  • Go Co-ed! Who says that a shower has to be just for the ladies? Include her counterpart and friends of both gender for some laid-back fun. Both casual, afternoon cookouts and evening cocktail parties are good fits for inviting both sexes.
